Shing Yin Khor at Comic-Con 2012
This picture tells you almost everything you need to know about Shing Yin Khor aka Sawdust Bear. As predicted, her “wunderkammer” in Comic-Con’s Small Press Area contained a dazzling array of resin and clay creatures, plus comics, paintings and pins. Naturally, I adopted one of her green Candy Larms. Blue and pink Candy Larms are available online through her etsy shop (along with her Designer Toy Award-nominated Marlowe).

Not sure who came first, nor does it necessarily matter but those pins look a lot like Yosiell’s Sicklings but not quite as cool.
I disagree on that, mainly because the Sickling pins all have the same expression but different paint. Sawdustbear’s pins all have more unique facial expressions typical of her work. So while they’re similar, in the end the similarity really stops at the fact that they’re pins of round faces. And there’s not really much you can do to make one round face look different than another face aside from the details. It’s in those details that the similarity ends.
