Arrested Development Paper Dolls and Legos
Arrested Development [Hulu here] was such clever, funny television. Whenever a TV show gets great critical ratings, meh public interest, and premature cancellation, everyone says “it was ahead of its time”. But Arrested Development truly was ahead of its time. The show used edgy humor and quick wit to depict a highly dysfunctional (yet somehow also endearing) family played by Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, David Cross, Portia de Rossi, Tony Hale, Alia Shawkat, Jeffrey Tambor, and Jessica Walter, in some of their best (IMO) roles ever.
Yesterday, The New Yorker announced that the entire Arrested Development cast (plus series director, Mitchell Hurwitz) will reunite for a panel as part of the New Yorker Fest on October 2nd. The event will take place at Acura at SIR Stage37 (408 West 37th Street) at 4PM. Tickets are $30 and will go on sale here beginning at 12PM EST/ 9AM PST on Wednesday, September 21st. That’s tomorrow. Be quick, New York peeps!
In honor of the reunion, I thought I’d share some Arrested Development art I’ve been hoarding.

And here we have awesome, detailed, I’m going to say the P-word, PERFECT, Arrested Development paper dolls by Mississippi-based illustrator Kyle Hilton. I love Hilton’s drawing style, and he really captures the essence of each character. Although he didn’t make an Anyong doll, I’ll let it slide because he’s got It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia paper dolls in the pipeline! (Can everyone say “Kitten Mittens”?!) Be sure to check out Hilton’s other work here. (He doesn’t just make dolls. Dude’s not a serial killer. Jeez.)
