Don Kennell created this plushed out chaise lounge for the Recycle Santa Fe Art Festival. Kennell refers to the stuffed animal chair as “lovely and comfortable,” but you’d need to unload a stream of anti-bacterial Febreze on it to get my OCD ass anywhere near it. Said Kennell:
“There is avast untapped resource of stuffed animals out there and I want to use these to make furniture, housewares, and clothing.”
In spite of my germ-fueled misgivings, I applaud his concept and effort. I’d much rather see stuffed animals recycled into useful objects versus abandoned graveyard plushes disintegrating alone… More art from Don Kennell can be found on etsy.
