In these trying times, who among us doesn’t need a little guru? Living in Las Vegas, artist Shea Brittain (aka FrankenFactory) is no doubt exposed to negative energy on a daily basis. Perhaps to combat bad mojo, she cast up a batch of 2-inch resin gurus. She calls them Sesame: The Guru of Meh, Maybe and Huh… and you might have seen FrankenFactory‘s booth at DesignerCon.

I took a Junebug Sesame with me this morning. I wanted to see if he’d be of any assistance with the Hell that some people call Grocery Shopping. I found the ultimate test by way of the refrigerated section of Kombucha, which, if you’re not a hippie is an expensive “effervescent fermented tea-based beverage with anecdotal health benefits” that is oddly popular and even kind of tasty despite its scent of stale beer and kerosene. Facing the $3.99 bottles of Kombucha, Sesame responded in the fashion of a Magic 8-Ball with “Huh…” When he took a liking to the broccoli, I knew that Sesame was a sage.

There are a bunch of different colored Sesames available in FrankenFactory’s online shop right now: futuristic grape, pearly peach, cobalt blue. Each hand-cast, hand-painted resin is only $10. That price even includes shipping this month with the discount code SNOWSHIP. Support independent toy makers and ladies who cast!
