Fake Toys: 21st Century Bastards by Chris Barker
If Simon Monk can paint superheroes in bags, Chris Barker can do bad guys on blister cards. Barker’s 21st Century Fake Toys tumblr is a dossier of dolls scarier than Chuckie. Seriously. This Kellyanne Conway action figure gives me the shivers.
Fake toys (like these by Randy Regier) can be fun, but Barker’s are just frightening. The gang’s all here: from Donald Trump and Kellyanne Conway to Steve Bannon and Sean Spicer.
Barker, who is British, skewers public figures from both sides of the pond (like his glow-in-the-dark Margaret Thatcher). As of now, Chris Barker’s fake toys are just that. But you can purchase the designs on shirts and mugs here.
