New Burlap Beauties from Scott Radke
|
Cleveland-based artist, Scott Radke, has a few new sculptures available. Shown above are his Quails, a series of woodland creatures in which Radke incorporates burlap and branches. Each one is about 14 inches tall, and they’re priced ~ $350.

I really dig this new raccoon sculpture. It measures 18 inches high by 13 inches wide and is currently available…to turn over your garbage cans and eat your foodscraps.

Here are two of Radke’s whimsical forest spirit sculptures. The green guy (above left) has been sold (wasn’t me; I wish it was), but the 12-inch pink piece is still available for $375. Always beautiful. Check out Radke’s site for more info, or contact him directly at scott [at] scottradke [dot] com.

Sweet! Let’s all act like quails! *proceeds to dance around like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4qOKybOKXs”
And I do like Scott Radke’s work. The Arrested Development chicken dance thing is just where my thoughts wound up. That and the green untitled guy under the raccoon kind of looks perfect to be turned into a “come at me bro” meme.
That said, these are all beautiful pieces and I somehow never before realized that they were made from burlap sacks. That’s actually pretty cool. Don’t ask me what I thought they were made out of… I just know I like his work and his animals are really cool. I really like the turtle from the totem pole. I want just that turtle & I’d treat it like a creepy taxidermy pet and go on adventures. crazylikeafox11 & Chubbers the turtle we shall be called. I’ll make everyone address Chubbers too–like when they say hello to me, I’ll make them say hello to Chubbers as well–and I’ll insist they call him Sir Chubbers. It’ll be great fun!
