People, I have found what may be the perfect popject: The farfalle pasta bowtie designed by Microworks in Japan. As a refresher: “The trademark of a successful popject is that its very existence is a commentary on pop culture and/or its design is a direct reference to a popular trend.”

Farfalle, is the Italian word for what the rest of the world refers to as “bowtie” pasta. I love farfalle. It has always been my favorite pasta shape (and wordplay is my weapon of choice). So bravo to Microworks and their entrepreneurial spirit. The oversized acrylic bowties come in 5 colors and will set you back ~ $41 USD + shipping. But can you put a price on POP? Thanks to Mike the Fireman, I’ve got two coming my way. I hope they arrive in time for EARTH MOVEMENT, so I can be straight up pasta stylin’!

The fact that they’re clip on is a cop-out. Show me a real, tie on, pasta bowtie and I’ll show you the money.

How are you supposed to wear and clip on bowtie and nothing else, your wife does not approve.
