Modern WPA Poster Illustrations by Dan Cassaro

Dan Cassaro made these six full-page illustrated WPA posters for Good Magazine. The graphics are 1930s style with 2012 messaging. Rad.

The Public Works of Art Project was a program to employ artists, as part of the New Deal, during the Great Depression. It was the first such program, running from December 1933 to June 1934.

Sadly, I cannot even imagine our government paying for public art on that kind of scale ever again.
