Giant Lite Brite for Signature Sounds
|My Favorite FabricatorsTM Pretty in Plastic created this huge Lite Brite installation to engage crowds during a sold-out show by the band Fun. at LA’s House of Blues last night. The gig was part of AOL Music’s original 13-part web series, Signature Sounds, presented by T-Mobile. Sounds like branding-palooza!
But back to the giant Lite Brite! Pretty in Plastic worked against the clock in collaboration with Whale Film. They molded and cast 200 translucent resin Lite Brite pegs for the scaled-up Lite Brite board. I Photoshopped a ruler into the photo below to help illustrate that the pegs measure over six inches long. Pretty in Plastic crafted the pegs in blue, green, clear, orange, purple and pink.
If there’s one thing I learned from watching Tiny Fuppets, it’s that we all sometimes wish we were a bit bigger. However, even these Hans Hemmert platform shoes wouldn’t give you a size advantage against this gigantic Lite Brite installation. And you know what? That’s OK. Just get lost in the colors.
Closeup, the pegs are abstract eye candy. Awesome! Click through for more photos.
great. more plastic. that’s what we need
hahahaha cool, but it’s actually not real gadgets, the iMac seems to be made of paper and the iPad is suspicious.. but the execution is well done!
