Politically Incorrect Children’s Books by Bob Staake
|Bob Staake is a prolific author and illustrator of children’s books. Titles like The Little Golden Picture Dictionary and I’m a Truck Golden Book are among the 50+ real books he’s written and/or drawn. Alas, today’s story isn’t about Bob’s actual books.
Staake created a series of hilarious hypothetical Golden Books that parody the whimsical covers of the 40s, 50s and 60s. We’re talking Dead Whales Can’t Wave Back (And the Japanese Are to Blame), God Is Great (So How Come He Gave Me and Bobby Crossed Eyes?), and the classic: Polly Paints a Penis. I have been laughing out loud for like 20 minutes now.
No one is safe from Staake’s satirizing, so if you don’t mind a little off-color humor, click on through. Act fast, per advice of one of Staake’s Big Golden Books: Let’s Hurry (or We’ll Miss the Public Lynching)! View the full set here.
