Resin Piggaphunt from TADO & Unbox Industries

Sheffield, UK-based duo TADO, in conjunction with Unbox Industries, are getting ready to release another ultra-limited edition of their Piggaphunt character. Piggaphunt was announced in 2008 and released through Rotofugi in a small edition thereafter.  The resin figures are as scarce as their real life hybrid counterparts, which in fact, do exist.

Limited to just 50 unique pieces, each 5-inch resin Piggaphunt is a unique colorway including “flat, flouro, mono and metallic variations” for $150 each. Each Piggaphunt also comes with a free metal Micro-Phunt phone mascot/key chain. Super cute, but d’oh! They’re being sold blind-box style through lottery. I’d make a frowny emoticon except WordPress formats them weird. For those who are more adventurous than me, applications to secure a Piggaphunt must be sent to unboxinfo@gmail.com before June 13th. Good luck, and if you get the green one: color me jealous (or, alternately, email me and name your price…).
