Resin BatsyDX by Paul Kaiju

I got a sneak peek of this new BatsyDX figure by Paul Kaiju last Friday at the Juried Resin Show, and it’s fantastic. Kaiju’s got his own style with his resin work, but he doesn’t rest on it. His craftsmanship is flawless, and his color palettes are unique. It’s high time I acquired something by him for my collection…

Per Kirkland’s great Toybot Studios blog, Kaiju sculpted BatsyDX himself out of soft wax. The name refers to a “deluxe” version of his original Batsy character. BatsyDX will have magnetic feet, which is a really cool touch. As something of a bat toy collector, I’ve tried affixing my Ice Bats, Greasebats and Steven the Bats to various surfaces with museum putty. The result of this is typically coming home to a bunch of bat toys scattered on the floor…
