Vegetable Characters by Lucas Savelli
|OK so since that last post was kinda heavy and gruesome, let’s balance it out with some adorable and endearing vegetable characters. Lucas Savelli likes Vegetables, or more accurately, Verduras, in the parlance of his home city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He writes:
Verdura is not a company, it is my passion. I do not like to see vegetables as a simple clothing brand that sells shirts in exchange for money just like I see it as a way of thinking, a way of “doing”, a way to communicate with the world and there is nothing more away from work than this.
I love greens and vegetables! I like people who get turnip tattoos. And I am especially fond of broccoli. Of course I’ve already written to Savelli to order one of his Disney x Broccoli logo shirts. It kind of reminds me that I need a haircut…
In his current character series, Savelli mixes vegetables and pop culture, a recipe I can’t help thinking would have made lima beans much more palatable in my youth…
What real or fictional character doesn’t want to walk Abbey Road like The Beatles?
Jack Asparagus is my favorite. The wordplay on “Jack Sparrow” cracks me up, the facial expression is great, and I like how Jack’s head is so tall it kind of bursts through the border of the print. Cool and fun designs!
The pop culture Verduras are not actually prints yet, but you can enjoy and favorite them over on Savelli’s Flickr page. His message is a positive one:
I invite you to explore this world full of vegetables, colors and good vibes!
Will do!
