Japanese Artist Turns Starbucks Cups into Artwork

Tomoko Shintani draws at cafes. So do a lot of people, right? But Shintani draws exclusively at Starbucks in Tokyo, Japan, and she continues from her paper sketchpad onto her paper coffee cup. The resulting Starbucks cups artwork is a whimsical diorama of sorts, with a small anamorphic element on each cup.
The illustrations are so sweet, one wonders…why Starbucks? According to the artist: “I just draw at Starbucks without any special reason.” Perfect. Follow her on Instagram for her latest work. Click through for a few more of my favorites.
