Million Dollar Listing: Hollywood Home Staged With Toy Art
|Head’s up, my lovely readers! Today I’ve got a real treat for you. As a member of both the liberal media elite and The Chosen Ones, I’m basically running Hollywood. Such privilege comes with its perks, and after plying a producer with Manischewitz, I can now bring you inside the $2,395,000 home of a serious toy art collector.
It may look modest from the outside, but this 3,085 square feet, 3-bedrooms, 3.5-bathroom Los Angeles home is all about the details.
“Hey, someone’s at the door. Should I answer?”
“Don’t trouble yourself; I’ll have my Companion get it. My KAWS COMPANION, that is.”
“Come on in! We’re in back. Head past the Scott Greene paintings, and hang a left between the fluffy orange cat and the Travis Lampe painting!”
As you enter the kitchen, take note of the giant Scott Greene (channeling Hieronymus Bosch) commission depicting the homeowner’s journey. While this house isn’t the property of Hitchcock, the decapitated bunny head by Luke Chueh and the butcher knife drawer pulls are straight out of Psycho.
They say it’s a sign when things occur in threes. Do these three Mark Ryden prints mean you should call your Realtor immediately? Dang, I guess that painting in the back by Brandon Bird kind of throws off the numerology…
We could talk about the issues of Visionaire on the table, but we all know we’re looking straight at Felid Orthus, the custom two-headed taxidermy cat by Sarina Brewer.
Hey, look: it’s God (or, more specifically, YHWH by Mark Ryden) in the bathroom window!
OK, now the real fun is about to begin. I’m going to ditch Bravo’s Josh and Madison and go off on my own. You’re going to want to peek into the closets where you’ll see toy art by KAWS, Kozik, FAILE, coarsetoys, Murakami (!!!), Brendan Monroe, Huck Gee, Fool’s Paradise, Ashley Wood, Michael Lau and the most complete collection of Erick Scarecrow’s Soopa Marias I’ve ever seen.
Special thanks to the homeowner for nerding out on his collection with me and being a good sport about all this! Click through, and see if you can spot all the toys…

I was all *flails hands in front of face while shouting oh my god* when I saw the Viseone Sad Dragons. Then I noticed his lack of the black one and the absence of Sea Hunter. Sea Hunter is sold out but he can find his missing Sad Dragons here: http://www.think-pink-celle.de/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=viseone&XTCsid=94130b0e50cfe7556de347ffb718535d
