@toykio's KAWS collection circa 2007, soon to be on display in a museum in Berlin!

It’s been a busy week on Instagram. First, there was the influx of Android users. Then came the news of Facebook’s $1billion acquisition of Instagram. [Here’s a good counterpoint]. We also had the Easter and Passover holidays (which are always good for a photo-op or two). This week, we go around the world in museums: One man’s amazing toy art collection readies itself to occupy a museum in Berlin, Kraftwerk plays a series of sold-out shows at MOMA in New York, and a couple of jesters make an appearance at MOMA in San Francisco. As usual, there’s also great cat pics, excellent toy pics, a brand new BABY, and a bonus dog wearing a yarmulke.

@faythelevine found this collection of unicorns at a thrift store.

I asked her about it, because sometimes when I’m in a thrift shop, antique store or estate sale, I experience a sort of sadness. I start to think about how this collection was once loved by a collector somewhere, and I wonder what happened to the collector. Here’s Faythe: “@jeremyriad I didn’t feel sad this time but have felt sad about other stuff. In the past. I have mixed feelings about it all, I mean we all die- I think about keeping my stuff manageable so whatever lucky person has to deal with it won’t feel insane. I just hope people end up with things that appreciate them.” I wonder if she bought some of those unicorns though!
