Retro Album Art by Travis Lampe

Travis Lampe x The Pauses

If you look at my (goth-heavy) CD collection, it becomes pretty obvious I haven’t bought a ton of music that exists in the physical plane for the greater part of the last decade.  But then I come across something like this.

Travis Lampe x The PausesTravis Lampe created the elaborate album art for a band called The Pauses. Musically, the two tracks I heard are female-fronted indie-pop. The single “Go North” is pretty catchy, and speaking of the last decade, this reminds me of what post riot-grrrl college kids were listening to back then. I can’t exactly say that the tunes are my bag, but I do love the album art, which is fashioned to look like a Golden Book with a children’s record inside. If ever there was a reason to buy music (especially music you’re not even 100% sure you dig), $10 is a bargain for this excellent design. Maybe the songs will grow on me?
