Handmade Typography Transformations by Tien-Min Liao

This design project by Tien-Min Liao combines typography, experimentation, animated gifs and the ‘artist’s hand’ into one awesome alphabet.
[If you don’t see the letters moving back and forth between the hands, double click the images.]
Handmade Type explores the relationships (and transformation) between upper-case and lower-case letters. The artist drew shapes with ink on her hands and used gestures to create capital letters. She achieves the transformation to lowercase solely through manipulation, gesture and perspective; there is no erasing or redrawing the original shapes. WOW.
“Y” you ask? Some designers enjoy a good challenge. I enjoy watching this. Click through for a video.
