I was skeptical that the happy, hairy, magic-loving artists of FriendsWithYou would adapt to their relocation from Miami to Los Angeles, but all appears well and colorful in West Coast Rainbowland. FWY recently designed cycling jerseys for the California chapter of Best Buddies, a nonprofit organization working to create opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This week, the Best Buddies cycling team completed a challenging ride at Hearst Castle. They wrote:
Huge THANK YOU to all our participants, donors, sponsors, and volunteers who came together to raise $4.5 million dollars for Best Buddies programs – an incredible feat that would not have been possible without each and every one of you.
And also: “@FriendsWithYou thank you for making our ride shirts the coolest, ever!”
The FWY jerseys aren’t for sale in the Best Buddies shop (yet), but they have a bunch of items with art by Keith Haring (all for a very good cause). Good stuff.
