The Bunny Museum of Pasadena

As noted earlier this week, there’s a fine line between being an object collector and being an objectum sexual. On a related note, things can get kind of hazy between collectors and hoarders, too. If your collection is bordering on hoardering, and you’ve got good stuff and serious organizational skills, you should think about starting a museum. That’s exactly what Candace Frazee and Steve Lubanski did.

The Bunny Museum in Pasadena

At first, they gave each other bunnies on special occasions, but before long, it became a daily occurrence. After a while, houseguests began referring to their house as The Bunny Museum. They made it official in 1998. The pair owns over 23,000 bunny-themed collectibles with much more in storage. They plan to open a larger museum down the road. For now, you can visit for free (with appointment) as long as you bring some snacks for their free-roaming rabbits. Even Karen O visited!

Candace and Steve are so sweet and in-love! I want to go visit them next time I’m in Pasadena for DesignerCon. Who’s with me?!
