Pete Fowler Collaborates With Post Living on Owlers Tables
|Pete Fowler has collaborated with UK-based Post Living on a line of tables based on his iPad drawings. Fowler is one of the character designers who shaped the toy art genre. His hybrid creatures are recognizable whether generated on a sketch pad or an iPad, and on a toy or a table.
He writes: “I’ve been using Brushes on an ipad2 with a Griffin stylus and it’s lots and lots of fun. Once you get used to the controls you can create really quickly and work within it’s initial limitations.”
It wasn’t long before owls started cropping up in Fowler’s digital drawings.
A group of almost half owl-half human characters appeared over a few days painting and they seemed to be alive and could do with a home, it seemed perfect to set them free in people’s living rooms. Are they a family or related? I’ll leave that up to whoever lives with them, but I’ve just called them the Owlers after a group of beloved friends.
Here’s The Professor!
The tables are a mix of wood and white laminate measuring 17.7 inches (450 mm) wide by 17.7 inches (450 mm) by 14 inches (360mm) high. You choose which one of the three Owlers you’d like as a table and Post Living seals it on the surface. As a bonus, you get the other two options as ready-to-hang wall art. Post Living has posted some behind-the-scenes shots here.
