Collectible Cardboard Robot or Mecha Cat Scratcher?
These collectible robots were designed by Ricardo Geldres Piumatti and Kareen Nishimura Doy and handmade by RIKA Studio in Peru. They’re made with entirely recycled materials including cardboard, bolts and bottle caps. The Robot Totes regularly cost between $50 and $100 at DIGS, a “nexus” of design and sustainability. I support fair trade and mean these designers no respect. But if you’re reading this and thinking, ‘hmm…that’s a tad expensive for a cardboard robot sculpture,’ please allow me to “repurpose” and “upcycle” this idea as…
MECHA CAT SCRATCHERS! I can’t not see these as cardboard cat scratchers handmade with love. And the best part is: they’re half off on Fab right now. Get one for $30, and delight while Mittens re-enacts a Japanese monster movie.
Still way too expensive
