A Toy a Day with this 2012 Toy Calendar

2012 Toy a Day Calendar by Ryan Roberts

Ryan Roberts [interviewed] has photographed a year’s worth of toy tableaus (a toy a day) to adorn your wall, and help you welcome in a new year filled with prosperity and…plastic. Each month of his new 12-month toy calendar features a full-color photo in which Ryan has staged an amusing and irreverent scene. Designer toys and vintage toys mix it up with scale furniture and wallpaper straight out of an acid trip.

When January ends and you flip to Febuary, you can remove the 8″x12″ pages and have frameable photos. Therefore, nothing is wasted (except, quite possibly, the photographer). Ryan reports that for every single day of the year (except for major existing holidays) he created a “completely weird holiday that I made up”. Based on the kind of wry humor I’ve seen so far, I can’t wait for that.

The 2012 Toy Calendar took Ryan about 350 days to conceive and complete. That’s just 15 days shy of a year. How appropriate! To encourage people to order now (it’s limited to 90 copies) and get the calendar in time for that very first day of 2012, he’s offering a 25% discount.
