DIY Resin Toys from Monster Kolor

Here’s a clever move from Monster Kolor, the makers of automotive quality paint for toy art applications. The independent company, operated by Dead Presidents, has previously supported toy artists in the form of paint color collaborations like this one. Now, they’re making it even easier for you to spray toys with their paint: they’re providing the blank toys, too.

Pris-zillA is a 2.5-inch made-in-the-USA DIY resin toy ideally suited for use with Monster Kolor paint. At $7 each (some cleanup required), it sounds like a good starting place for budding spraypainters and customizers. Alternatively, more advanced students can try reverse engineering their favorite toy from scratch!

This is smart business for Monster Kolor. I’ve always wondered why Kidrobot didn’t brand and/or manufacture its own paint or markers to be sold in-store alongside those piles of DIY Munny toys. They’d make a killing with one-stop shopping!

For better or for worse, it's easy to pretend Paypal is Monopoly money when buying toys online.
