Art Toys for the London Olympics!

Champion Caveys

The opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics is almost upon us, and UK-based plush artist, Holly Stanway, has been training her Cavey character for the events.  For a kickstart on the festivities (and a kickass commemorative), she sewed up a sweet series of colorful Champion Caveys.

Champion Cavey

The special edition Champion Caveys commemorate what Stanway calls “the sporting event of the year,” and they come in the five colours of the Olympic rings. Naturally, this includes a green Cavey.

Champion Caveys

Each fleece Champion Cavey is a made-in-the-UK art toy with 40 numbered plushes per colour priced at £16 or ~ $25 USD.  The Champion Caveys come with medallions of accomplishment (for them) and matching Union Jack flag enamel badges (for you). Hell yeah, fellow anglophiles!

Champion Coney is sold out!

Also of note: Stanway is packaging the Champion Caveys in a new “Cavey Cube”. Plush can be a tough medium to collect because it’s difficult to dust and display. The Cavey Cubes sound like a good solution for collectors. Although Championship Coney (above) is sold out (along with the complete sets of Champion Caveys), the individual colors are all currently still available here. Act fast; these London Olympics commemorative Caveys will be gone before Usain can Bolt!
