Comic-Con 2012 Wednesday Preview Night Quick Recap
After a long drive (musically enhanced by “Kiss offs” and “Murder Ballads”), I made it to San Diego. You don’t need to look very hard to know that geeks and freaks have taken over the city! (Written on the van above: “Honk if you love wookies.”)
It was pretty late, and some superheroes were even still making last minute tweaks to their costumes. But I got over to the convention center and in the doors with just enough time to grab some Wooper Loopers off that renaissance man, Gary Ham. (What’s a Wooper Looper? Glad you asked.)
Then I headed straight for DKE, where I got my first real life look at all the pieces I’d been researching and writing about. AMAZING! These 16 pictures form my abbreviated Previews Night experience. I’ll be back at Comic-Con 2012 tomorrow, and you can follow along on your phone’s Instagram app or by periodically refreshing your Instagram web browser. I even figured out how to connect Instagram to Facebook, so if you prefer Facebook, you can vicariously enjoy Comic-Con here.

Behind the busts, is that one of MINDstyle’s plants from Comic-Con 2011???
Thanks to Ryan the Wheelbarrow for such a warm greeting to start off SDCC (and not to mention a custom green ty_po Labbit)! You can find him all week long at the Kidrobot Booth (#4529), and he’ll be doing a special screenprinting demo on Sunday, July 15th from 12-2pm. Go say hi!
