Like many people, I am entranced by the recycled skateboard art of Haroshi. Recently, NY gallerist and one of my heroes, Jonathan LeVine, visited Haroshi‘s art studio in Japan. One year ago, LeVine gave Haroshi his first U.S. solo show, Future Primitive.
There are piles of skatedecks and colorful wooden cubes. This is his medium.
Here’s his trusty trove of hand-carving tools.
Haroshi has great taste in toys! This shelf shows a few works by T9G. (I’ve got that Rangeas!) Cool. Click through for a few more looks behind-the-scenes.
