Hip Transit Pass Holders by Hariken

Pasmo Cases by Hariken

Super cool news from my friend, character designer, Hariken of Japan. A company called Active Co. has released four of Hariken’s punk food characters as Pasmo holders.  Fireman Mike explains:

Pasmo is the ‘fas track’ of Japan, one card that gets you everywhere. In the past, there were separate cards for separate rail lines, then a few started to have cards that worked on multiple lines, then they started to be the wireless type that you just swipe over the gate instead of feeding your card through… & then there was Pasmo, wireless, & usable on almost all of the major lines, so it’s kinda a big deal & everyone has one.

I want one! Here in the Bay Area, we have BART passes and Clipper Cards. The back of my current BART pass features an ad for Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the City: A New Musical. It could be worse, but Giga Burger would be better!

Any readers from Japan (or those with family / connections) should be able to find Hariken’s Pasmo holders at Village Vanguard, New Style, Loft and Tokyu Hands (aka the coolest place on earth). Many of these outlets also sell Hariken’s great sticker collections. The Pasmo holders actually remind me of classic 80s puffy stickers. (You know you had a sticker book.)

Be on the lookout for upcoming 3D news from Hariken. This post contains a CLUE!
