A Pencil Sharpener For Peeling Carrots

You’re looking at Karoto, a carrot peeler that takes the form of a pencil sharpener, by Israeli designer Avichai Tadmor. Tadmor got his inspiration from a common school pencil sharpener after noticing how it could be used for curling fanciful, edible, vegetable ribbons.

Interesting how my Israeli brothers are very good at designing products that fuse food and writing (see also)! Karoto comes in black and orange versions for $15 each. It’s available here, along with a clever actual pencil sharpener called Gepetto’s Pencil Sharpener.

What’s that? You don’t think this popject has a-peel? Why, I don’t carrot all! Now watch this video.

I’d totally bring a bag of carrot shavings to work to munch on. $15 seems like a pretty good price too. I think this is a product I’d buy and go overboard on. Carrot shavings for a salad. Carrot shavings for a coleslaw. Carrot shaving for everyone! I’d eventually go crazy & start handing out bags of carrot shavings thus becoming the first crazy carrot shaving lady.

@crazylikeafox11 You TOTALLY should do that! I sense a Crazy Carrot Shaving Lady meme in your future. Also, we’ve switched places, and now I can be the Quirky Carrot Cubicle Guy!
