I could tell you how much I like Aiko‘s Lady Butterfly sculptures, but I might as well let her say it in her own words: “Check this out – these babies are like cherry blossoms…so sexy, so lovely!” So sexy, so lovely indeed. And there’s even an animated gif. Be still my heart.
Aiko designed Lady Butterfly as a work in the style of “AIKO-meets-Baroque” after becoming inspired during a trip to Rome. She describes the character as “a fairy of the street. She comes in the night and draws stories of love and romance with her spray paint.” Tomenosuke has been working alongside Aiko on the Lady Butterfly project for a couple years. Fittingly, the Cherry Lady Butterfly (pink) edition of ten will be released at 2PM (Japanese time) on Valentine’s Day, February 14th. The price of $550 includes worldwide shipping, and you can find English language order forms here. Gorgeous. Click through for a few more looks.
