From the streets of NYC to the woods of Norway, here’s another fun landscape intervention. Jørgen Platou Willumsen is an Oslo-based artist whose work concerns humor in art and design.
Jørgen has a philosophy where he wants to make the art accessible, instead of “unavailable”. He is also concerned that the objects should tell a story, and in that sense create a relationship with the user. By using humor in different ways, he is looking to create reactions in form of laughter joy or curiosity. The nice thing about humor is that the outcome often is a reaction to something different, a surprise factor or something unexpected. The humor may lie in the direct express and have a concrete punchline, or hiding in a subtle play with dimensions, shapes, expressions and functions.
These photos of lush forests are beautiful, but the addition of eyes makes them absolutely enchanted. Nice.
